Finding your unicorn job is not a walk in the park – it will take some time and some self-reflection on what’s important to you and what you value. Fortunately, Wies Bratby, owner of Women in Negotiation and guest speaker at our recent workshop on Finding your Unicorn Job, revealed some of the most common mistakes we make when searching for our unicorn job. Now, how do you go about getting what you want – negotiating and getting paid your worth? The most important tool is having a bullet-proof mindset – about who you are and what your value is.

Having a bullet-proof mindset takes time to build. So you must practice, practice, practice! Practice building your confidence up and self-worth from within. Two ways you can start doing this are:

1) Having a “brag book” – and every day jot down 3 things you are proud of, that you did well, and that you are happy about.

2) Keep an inbox-folder with emails praising your work!

As long as you aim to re-wire your brain to believe in yourself there is no reason why you won’t succeed – you must believe you are worth it yourself for others to believe it too. If you’re not there yet, you will, just start.
